InfoPath and Web Content Management: an End-to-End SharePoint Scenario -- Part 1: Creating the InfoPath Form

This month at the SharePoint User's Group meeting, I spent an hour going through a demonstration of an end-to-end SharePoint solution, and I wanted to share the contents of that lecture with you.

Because SharePoint is such a large product, it often gets segmented into different areas of functionality, which label things like "Collaboration", "Business Intelligence", "Web Content Management", etc. While these labels are helpful, they tend to encourage silo thinking; that is to say, we think of our application as just one thing, while neglecting to think about all the possibilities available to us through SharePoint.
